When is the best time of year for a Cancun getaway?

Well, this depends on what you are looking for! Do you want to party? Do you want to relax on the beach? Do you want full venues or do you prefer having a little space to yourself? Is great weather important to you? Are you on a budget? All of these factors come into play! Allow us to elaborate...... High season (also known as the infamous spring break season) runs from mid-February to mid-April each year. Thousands of college students pour into Cancun by the minute, and they've come to PARTY! If you are looking for a wild and crazy trip that you need assistance from your phone's camera roll to remember, hop on the spring break train and come down during this time of year. It's short, but it's sweet! You will experience full clubs, amazing DJs, ultra high bottle service minimums, celebrity appearances, and you will without a doubt meet a LOT of people looking to have the time of their lives and party until the sun comes up. Price points will be higher during high season, but it's worth it! Low season runs from approximately the last weekend in May to the tail end of November, and then rolls around again for Christmas time when everyone would rather be home with their families than travel to a tropical paradise! Low season is definitely the cheapest time of year to travel to Cancun, and for people that are looking to avoid sticky club floors and sweaty packed parties, this is the most ideal time to visit! Events won't be sold out, but there will definitely be enough people to keep the clubs poppin'! Dinner reservations will be easier, and waiters will be more attentive because they have less clients to attend to at once! This is the time of year for honeymooners, destination weddings, couple's trips, business getaways etc. It's important to note that the rainy season is mostly throughout the month of October into November and the rain definitely affects your ability to get around. We've seen locals being towed by cars water skiing  through the hotel zone (true story) due to high water levels on the street. High summer temperatures are also something to keep in mind. The humidity August-July is at an all time high. If traveling during this time of year, aim for an all-inclusive resort so you have a back up if shakey weather rolls in during your trip! "Shoulder season," defined as early December and the end of April typically has great weather and low hotel prices. Crowds are moderate, and the vibe is positive! Travel tip: Mid-week travel also offers flight discounts and lower weekday room rates. Weekend travel will almost always cost more. Something to keep in mind! Well, there you have it! We hope we helped in making your planning process a bit easier. Don't forget to check out our VIP party packages and well known boat parties during your stay in Cancun!
