Calling all shopaholics!

There are so many places for great shopping in the city of Cancun! Where to go? Well, it all depends on what you are looking for. Cancun’s shopping options range from luxury high-end stores with your favorite designer labels, to some of the best wide-ranging markets where you can negotiate with shop owners for local art, souvenirs, traditional Mexican candy and other keepsakes!

La Isla Shopping Village: Located in the heart of Cancun’s hotel zone, you will find this beautiful outdoor shopping mall with tons of variety! La Isla houses your favorite classics like Nike, Under Armor, Express and Guess, as well as some of the hottest designers on the market such as Louis Vuitton, Channel, Dolce and Gabbana, Michael Kors and more! La Isla also has some great local fashion at shops like SOHO, Shasa, and Oysho! If you get hungry, no problem! You can find restaurants like Hooters and Chilis, as well as plenty of non-chain restaurants like La Madonna (luxury dining) and taco shops lining the Nichupte Lagoon. This place has something for everyone, and the location is perfect for Cancun travelers! Go take a look for yourself now, thank us later! Plaza Las Americas: Located in “Cancun Centro” which means Downtown Cancun. You can find this huge shopping mall in the busy bustling metropolitan area of Cancun’s high-end residential center. It is filled with a wide variety of stores and pop up shops. Plaza Las Americas has a quite few internationally known stores like Zara, Mac, Sears, etc. but it is mainly made up of local fashion and local foods. This shopping mall has everything from a grocery store to a VIP movie theatre. There is even a car dealership on site! Las Americas is convenient because you can get a taste of local flare where not many tourists venture, while stocking up on some pretty awesome merchandise (that none of your friends will have at home)! Market 28: Also located in Cancun Centro, a bit off the beaten path. This overwhelmingly large market has everything you could ever imagine. There are souvenirs of all shapes and sizes, artwork, food, clothes, trinkets, Mexican and Mayan cultural keepsakes, and much much more! You can bargain your way all over this market as the shop owners just want to make coming to work worth while by filling their pockets with pesos in order to go home and feed their families. The hand painted ceramics are awesome, and all the jewelry is handmade and authentic. THIS is real Mexico, and we highly recommend checking it out! Mercado Coral Negro: Located in Cancun’s Party Center, directly next to the city’s most well known clubs, bars and restaurants, this market is filled with just about any souvenir you could possibly ask for. Since Coral Negro is placed strategically where tourists pass by all day and night, prices tend to be higher (even though some of the inventory is exactly the same as what you can find at Market 28 in downtown). While you CAN and SHOULD negotiate, it tends to be a little more difficult here to get the lowest prices available because the store owners aren’t hurting for customers throughout the day. It is convenient for tourists to shop here because, for most, it is just a short walk/bus ride from their hotels. Keep in mind though; Cancun is no different than most places in that convenience comes at a higher price! We know that shopping is a must for many tourists, and you won’t be disappointed visiting any/all of the hot spots we’ve listed here! Remember, if you are looking for nights out at the hottest venues in the Cancun party center, we got you covered! Click here for more information about our infamous VIP Party Packages!
