The legal drinking age in Mexico is 18. Make sure to bring your ID out with you, I’m sure you wouldn’t want to go all the way back to your hotel to grab it when needed.. and of course, ALWAYS remember to drink responsibly!
- What time do the clubs close in Cancun?
The clubs in Cancun do not have a specific closing time. It can vary from night to night but the clubs generally stay open until about 4 am during spring break season.
- Will my plug-in appliances work in Cancun? Can I pack my iron, hair dryer, curler?
The electrical outlets in Mexico use the same voltage (110 to 120 volts) as those in the United States and Canada. So if you are coming from the U.S. or Canada, the answer is YES. However, if you are from Europe or another country that uses 220 to 240 volts, you will need to bring the necessary adapters.
- Will my cell phone and laptop work in Cancun? Will I have access to Internet?
There are a couple different ways you can use your cell phone in Mexico. One option is to shut off your cellular data so you won’t be hit with a huge roaming bill when you get back. Connecting your phone and laptop to the Internet is fairly easy. You’ll be able to find WiFi in most resorts and restaurants in Cancun. Another possible option is to unlock your phone to be able to connect to the local cellular service in Mexico. However, since each service provider is different and all plans vary, you’ll need to check in with them to see which option is best for you.
- Is it OK to drink the water in Mexico?
The majority of restaurants and resorts in Cancun’s hotel zone have purified water and is safe to drink. However, if you’re going to be worried about getting sick I suggest just sticking to bottled water. Better to be safe than sorry AND it will give you one less thing to worry about!
